Nihiwatu Shows Sustainable Can Fit Luxury Market
The recent relaunch and expansion plans at the famed Indonesian's sustainable resort Nihiwatu shows that luxury can fit into this niche segment.
International investor Chris Burch undertook a reported USD30 million expansion of the asset in 2012 and is now seeing the dream turn into a reality.
Burch tapped international hotelier James McBride to lead the initiative, and the result are gaining global attention.
That said hats off to the original developers of the property Claude and Petra Graves who vision on a broad community-based boutique resort with a mega land holding was turned into a leading destination.
