Call it a reaction to the change of government or else an economic issue but the government in Sri Lanka is set to take on damage control at its second international gateway airport at Hambantota.
There were rumored the facility was to have been axed but the latest move is aimed at only closing at night to cut operating costs.
Sri Lankan Airlines stopped regular services in January.
For now the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) looks to be a white elephant in waiting.
